FTP tests are always a bit intimidating. How well will I perform? Will I bonk? Will I be too conservative? They are definitely best done in colder temps during the season. I’ve done a test in the middle of summer and had to cave and throw in the towel.
Today’s test was near perfection.
I was equipped with the traditional 2 fans on either side of me and enough liquids and gels in case I need an extra boost.
My prior FTP coming into this test was 259 watts. I gained an additional 28 watts from my last FTP test almost exactly a year ago. Psyched about my FTP being at 287 watts as I continue my IRONMAN Nice training.
Power to weight ratio is now 287 watts / 93 kg = 3.08 w/kg
